Kara Vyne Ijlst was raised in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains and currently lives in the middle-of-nowhere in Central Utah. She spent her childhood running wild, trail riding and training horses, or curled around a book. She has three main passions in life - First, animals of all shapes and sizes. Second, her family consisting of her high school sweetheart, feral-child daughter, neurotic border collie, and standoffish cat. Third, books, books, and more books, which have always provided her with an escape from the world and an outlet for her experiences. She also has a love for the outdoors and all kinds of art forms. Gritty fantasies are her books. Vikings and witches are her obsession. Publishing her own books is her dream.
